| Abstract (German): | Die Diskussion um Einfluß und Wirkung des berufsbildungstheoretischen Ansatzes Kerschensteiners ist bislang vornehmlich unter Perspektive auf die Entwicklung des Berufsschulwesens für Jungen geführt worden. Unberücksichtigt ist dabei sein analog dazu angelegter Versuch geblieben, die Mädchenbildung als staatsbürgerliche Bildung neu zu begründen Es wird zu zeigen versucht, daß auch die geschlechtsspezifische Überformung seines Ansatzes für die institutionelle Verankerung der beruflichen Bildung von Mädchen prägenden Charakter hatte. Der Einfluß seiner konzeptionellen Überlegungen auf Idee und Ausgestaltung der Mädchenfortbildungsschule wird insbesondere auf drei Momente zurückgeführt: Sein Konzept entsprach erstens einer vorwaltenden zeithistorisch-konservativen Tendenz, stimmte zweitens mit den Bildungszielen einer engagierten Lehrerinnenschaft inhaltlich weitgehend überein und konnte drittens auch auf Beispiele schulpraktischer Umsetzung verweisen, wodurch sich die Praktikabilität seines Ansatzes hinreichend verdeutlichen ließ. | Abstract (English): | Up to now, the discussion on the impact of Georg Kerschensteiner’s educational theory has focused mainly on the development of the system of vocational education for boys. His analogously designed attempt at a redefinition of the education of girls as civic education has not been taken into account. The author tries to show that the gender-specific orientation of his approach too shaped the institutional foundation of vocational education for girls. The impact of Kerschensteiner’s concept on the idea and design of institutions of further education for girls is attributed to three aspects, in particular: first, his concept corresponded to a predominant contemporary conservative trend, secondly, it was in accordance with the educational objectives of the committed body of women teachers, and thirdly, he was able to refer to examples of his concept having been put into practice in the classroom, thus illustrating the practicability of his approach.
