Abstract (German):Unter Schweizer Lehrkräften der Primarschule ist der Männeranteil mit 18 Prozent sehr niedrig. (DIPF/Orig.)
Abstract (English):Considering the low quota of male primary teachers in Switzerland, it is of interest in which stage of career choice young men exclude this option and at which point potentially interested men still could be reached. Results from the broadly based research project "GUNST - counter-stereotypical career choice" show: Yet at an early stage, the percentage of men with interest for primary school teaching is low, though these men realize their intention more frequently than men with other career aspirations. Furthermore there is a high amount of men visiting the information event of the University of Teacher Education who have not yet made their definite career choice and consider primary school teaching. In addition, students in the teacher training reconstruct their career choice not as a linear development, but rather as a "weighing up process". These findings indicate an early containment process, even though the definite career choice is made rather late. (DIPF/Orig.)
